So you have one day to visit the beautiful city of West Palm Beach. What do you do? In our opinion, West Palm Beach has too much going on to do in just one day, but we’re cutting through some of the fat for you so you can use your time most wisely!
Things to Do In the Morning
Early to bed and early to rise…for your one day in West Palm Beach, wake up and grab a nice brunch in any of the amazing dining opportunities. Once you’ve completed your breakfast, get ready for some culture. West Palm Beach has a number of museums, art venues and fun places to explore. Consider doing a Duck Tour to Palm Beach Island to see where the rich people live. Maybe Steven Spielberg’s Yacht will be in town…or Brad Pitt’s (they’re huge).
You can also catch the Palm Beach Zoo and the Palm Beach Science Center and Aquarium. They open at 9am. The Norton Museum of Art has amazing exhibits, although it doesn’t open until 12pm.
Lunch Time and Afternoon
It’s time to do some shopping! There are two amazing places to grab lunch in Downtown West Palm Beach at Clematis Street and CityPlace. Clematis Street offers more boutique options like the Alchemist and Avocado Grill, whereas at CityPlace you will find some of the bigger chains like the Cheesecake Factory, Saito’s Japanese Grill and Brio.
After lunch, you can enjoy shopping at CityPlace or travel a few short miles north to the Palm Beach Outlets. The Outlets were built only a few years ago and have some of the most recognizable stores in retail. If it’s your style, head to West Palm Beach’s Antique Row on S. Dixie Highway to add to your collection!
If you don’t want to go shopping, you can always enjoy the beach or the waterways with kayak, paddle board, and Jet Ski rentals. It is also possible to catch a charter fishing boat if that’s your thing!
Of course, you have to start with dinner. If you went to Clematis Street for lunch, try CityPlace for dinner, or vice versa. You won’t be disappointed with either. Then you’ll be looking for entertainment. You can catch a movie at the Muvico Parisian IMAX Theater, or the West Palm Beach Improv Comedy Club. There are also live shows at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts.
Once you’ve had dinner and entertainment, it’s time to hit the nightlife. Like any city, West Palm Beach is full of options that will meet any need. There are Irish Pubs, martini bars and dance clubs galore. Try the Brass Ring Pub for some craft brews or the Blue Martini for some sophisticated cocktails. On the weekends, there are live bands playing in the CityPlace plaza. Whatever your preference for winding down after a long day, you’ll find it somewhere in West Palm Beach.
No matter where you end up, we’re positive that you’ll want to come back to West Palm Beach again. In fact, you may want to live here and if you’re interested in seeing any great condos or houses in the area, please contact us!
