First Impressions, First Impressions, First Impressions!

Most home buyers are looking for the home that they can see themselves spend the rest of their lives in. there is a moment just after your home comes into view that they see begin to “feel” that this is the home. If they can’t picture living there in those first moments, you’re doomed! Make sure the outside of your home looks amazing! We’d recommend good landscaping before doing anything to the inside.

This is referred to as curb appeal.

Online Appeal

We just talked about curb appeal, which is the physical look of your house when buyers show up. But you also want to make sure that you have Online Appeal. This is our term for how your house looks online. 92% of buyers search for homes online. Use photographs, not pictures. Pictures are taken with camera phones. Photographs are taken by professional photographers. It makes a difference!

Show Your Kitchen Some Love

The kitchen is the most functional room in your home. It is also where people spend a great deal of their waking time. We’re not telling you to go nuts with a crazy kitchen renovation, but make sure that your kitchen is clean and looks as good as possible. If your kitchen really looks dated, you may want to consider a remodel, but if you can get away with some neutral paint and updating the cabinet handles and knobs.

Let There Be Light

You may know what every nook and cranny of your home looks like, but buyers don’t. If they can’t see it properly, it isn’t good. In order to see it, you need the proper lighting. Even if your buyers are looking at your home in the middle of the day, it can get dark. Make sure that all of your lightbulbs work and properly illuminate your home.

Be Ready to Show

One of the most difficult things for home sellers to do is making sure they are always ready to show their home. If you have a weekend trip scheduled and you get a call from a buyer who is only in town for that weekend and wants to see your house, you need to be there for them. Every call is the potential person who wants to buy your home.  If you want to sell it, you’ll need to make sure you’re there to show it!
